My Favorite part of my home bakery side hustle…

Hi there ! In case you don’t know me yet I’m Kaitlyn, owner of Bigfoot Bakery and creater of Cookie Lady Academy. I live in a very Rural community where I am a 9-5er ( More like 7 -6 er IYKYK) by day and a cookie side hustler by night. I’ve been creating and selling cookies for over 2 years now, from custom sugar cookies and hosting cookie classes I’ve embraced it all.

I started my baking business as a side hustle in hopes to turn my baking hobby into a way to make some extra cash…. and yes thats true it has been a good extra income…. BUT its not my favorite part of my business.

The best part of running my home bakery is the community I’ve gained. I recently had to move for my day job to a tiny town of 2500 people. And if you know small towns you know how hard it can be to be an outsider in a new community. And cookies just so happened to be secret ingredient to starting over here Okanogan. It has allowed me to create new friendships, connect with people I would have otherwise never met, and of course spread a little joy with my cookies!

My cookie business has always been away for me to create community and bring joy to the people around me. In my new community I have met so many other ambitious business owners from clothing boutiques to coffee shop owners these women have welcomed me in and cheered me on!

So if you’re on the fence about starting your home baking business just know that it is so much more than the cookeis or the cupcakes. It has allowed me to find a community and a purpose I wouldn’t have otherwise had.

If you have any questions about how to get your bakery biz up and running feel free to send me a message or book a free 20 minute call! I love talking all things baking and would be so happy to help you start your home bakery journey.

Happy Baking

-Kaitlyn
